Intel looks in the future: 15-nm manufacturing

On "Research@Intel Day" held yesterday the chip giant has thrown the look far ahead in the future of the processor manufacturing. Besides, was spoken for the first time also of 15 nm manufacturing, with similar methods, with 32 nm manufacturing will be used, just so still seems to be feasible. more... Hardly conceivable, the fact that one can generate 32nm structures with 193nm source of light.

@Bruno2k
1nm will be impossible, because atome already 0,1nm have, one will hardly be able to realise this.
I estimate with 10nm, wenns well goes 5nm is schluss.

Oha this leads the way. In 15nm a Core i7 @4GHz with a TDP of 45 W would be possible certainly..... But everything only daydreaming... Till present.@Bruno2k
1nm corresponds already only a few nuclear situations, under 1nm nothing more can be realised there probably.

After nanometer comes Pikometer and afterwards Femtometer. And Femtometer is no legal measuring size in Germany.

Me interests why the power consumption automatically runtergeht
in smaller manufacturing?
